REVIEWS:
“Director Philip Dart has led his quintet of actors excellently. At the centre is Vincent, the provocateur (…) Thomas Wingfield plays him elegantly but also gets his share of blows. Although not as many as his brother-in-law Peter (Alex Boorman), whose intellect and character come under fire. The evening’s most beautiful moment comes from Carl, the siblings’ friend, when he unveils a well kept secret... Anthony Glennon’s performance is so touching that the entire auditorium was palpably holding its breath. Dannie Harris brings an amiable, steady presence to Anna, playing her with confidence and calm authority. And then there’s Lizzie. At first, she’s stuck in a traditional female role: cooking, serving, smoothing over tensions, and often remaining on the sidelines. But when she finally snaps, revealing herself as the true intellectual of the family who has been forced into her wife-mother-role (…), Daphne Kouma delivers a powerful outburst that earns her a round of well-deserved applause. (…) The audience enjoyed it very much.” (ONLINE MERKER)
“Magnificently directed by Philip Dart at Vienna’s English Theatre, the play shines a spotlight on the foolishness of men and the problems it creates for women. A glowing recommendation!” (FALTER)
